When you enter Epcot from those resorts you actually enter in the back of the park, by the UK in the World Showcase. When we walked in, we were surprised to find Cinderella waiting there greeting guests! It was a great way to start the day! We then headed over to ride The Seas with Nemo, and did Turtle Talk with Crush. After that it was time for our lunch reservation at Garden Grill, which was in the same building as the Nemo rides. I had not paid enough attention when booking this meal to realize that the food is served family style - not buffet - and although the food was very good, it's a heavier meal for lunch. They serve you sliced turkey with gravy, stuffing, pot roast, mashed potatoes, sausages & vegetables. You also get salad & bread, and cookies and strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was all delicious - and this is one of the only places in Disney that actually brews their own iced tea! The rest all serve Honest Tea Company tea.
After lunch Dan & Cams headed back to the hotel for a nap, and Emmy and I stayed just to ride a few more rides since they were in the same building we ate lunch in, and the lines were short. After we rode Soarin' and Living with the Land we headed back to the hotel for some rest time too. Another perk of staying at those resorts I mentioned above - you don't lose a ton of time if you go back for a midday rest!
After Cams woke up & we had freshened up some we headed back into Epcot, and Emmy and Dan tried out Test Track, while Cams & I went back to Nemo for a few more rides. We met up and hunted down some hot dogs for the girls before getting to ride Frozen Ever After! We originally had a dinner reservation at Coral Reef restaurant, which seemed like a cool dining experience & had a yummy looking menu to me, but we decided to cancel it & just get something quick for dinner. We were happy with our decision, as Food & Wine festival is going on in Epcot right now, and there's tons of booths around the park offering small plates of different dishes, so you can try lots of yummy things! Another reason I'm glad we canceled our reservation at the fancy seafood restaurant - our girls just want to eat hot dogs. All of the time.
So as you can see Cameron LOVED Frozen Ever After! haha no really - she did!! But this picture!!! This picture right here is why I buy the Memory Maker photo package - it gets you the pics from rides that take them, as well as all professional pics taken by photographers around the parks! If you're going for more than a few days, it's worth getting in my opinion. We can all be in the pictures, and we don't have to drag our expensive camera around the parks, on rides & on/off busses all day.
After the Frozen ride was the moment we'd been waiting for - Cameron got to meet Elsa!! When we came to Disney in February, Cameron got sick & missed our Epcot day, which meant she missed meeting Elsa, who is her faaaaavorite! So she was super excited to meet her this trip, and the meet went perfectly! Even Anna was a ton of fun, and was trying to trick Cams into thinking she was Elsa, but Cams was not having it! Both sisters were a lot of fun!
Even though it was getting pretty late at this point, Dan & I still needed some dinner for ourselves so we grabbed a few dishes to share on our walk over to meet Joy and Sadness from Inside out. We also somehow promised the girls they could get a treat after... the wait for Joy & Sadness was a little longer than expected but thankfully you wait in a nice big room where the kids could kind of run around in. After we were done meeting Joy & Sadness we ventured out to find a doughnut - because that's what the bug wanted for her treat. We were able to find them "cronuts" (a croissant & doughnut combination - it's amazing), but since it was 9pm all of the food huts were closing so we couldn't get a snow cone for Emmy. Thankfully she settled for a cronut, and we all shared them as we watched some of Illuminations fireworks & took the boat ride back to our hotel for the night. All in all we had a great day at Epcot!
