Cams was still up & ready for action before 7 this morning, but she was happy to snuggle in bed with us & watch some shows on the iPad (with headphones) so Emmy, mommy & daddy could rest a little longer. Emmy slept until about 7:45/8 and then she joined us in bed for more shows. We had a leisurely breakfast in our room, then headed out for a walk on the Boardwalk and around some neighboring resorts. We are walking distance from the Boardwalk resort, Beach Club resort and Yacht Club resort, as well as Epcot Park! The walk there is maybe 10 minutes for us at the most, and it actually gets you into the back of the park, which is a good thing because you're closer to the Frozen ride from the back! :-) So we checked that out on our walk this morning too, and are looking forward to heading there tomorrow! We're also crossing our fingers that the forecast of 75% chance of rain for tomorrow changes!!!
After our walk we played on the playground for a bit, as it was still cloudy & a little cooler. But as we played & the sun came out we decided to change into bathing suits & head to the pool. The girls enjoyed swimming for a bit, and Emmy especially enjoyed the water slide! It's the perfect size for her; big enough to be fun but small enough so that it's not too scary! We ordered lunch by the pool and then headed back to our rooms for a nap. Cams took another solid 2 hour nap today, and after about an hour I decided to take Emmy on an adventure since Daddy was napping too. I wanted to take her to the princess promenade at the Grand Floridian, where Cinderella & Prince Charming make a grand entrance down the grand staircase and then waltz in the lobby, and you can waltz with them. But they don't do it on Tuesdays or Thursdays, boo! But Emmy was a good sport about it, and we were able to do the second part of our adventure, which was take a ride on the monorail! We did a loop around past the Magic Kingdom & back to the Grand Floridian. When we got off we found a penny machine & made two souvenir pennies. It was a great reminder that the simple things can be just as enjoyable as the big extravagant things!!
We headed back to our hotel and basically had just enough time to change before we headed back to the Grand Floridian (with Daddy & Cammy this time) for dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia & Drizella!! Emmy was SUPER excited for this dinner, and was practicing her curtsey in full on stepsister mode the whole way there. The restaurant was bigger and very busy, but we still had great meal! The characters started coming to our table almost as soon as we sat down, so we had the autographs & picture taking out of the way first thing, and then we could get our dinner & enjoy that. It's much better that way, as opposed to being done with your meal & just sitting around waiting for the characters to get to your table. The food was really good at this restaurant too! The girls favorite dessert was the gummy bears!! There were a lot of small friends who were just "done" for the day at the restaurant tonight, which was just a reminder to Dan & I to thank our girls for being such good listeners and doing such a good job at the restaurant. Overall, they've been pretty amazing this trip. Now don't get me wrong, they're far from perfect, they've definitely had their moments... but overall they've been great. It definitely helped tonight that they hadn't spent the day walking around a park!
After dinner we just headed back, showered & put the girls to bed. It took them a little longer to fall asleep tonight, maybe more like 20 minutes versus 5, but again they weren't completely exhausted from the day. I think it's a must to have a day off on a trip like this with little kids, it's just so much for their little bodies to handle. I mean, it's almost too much for MY body to handle!! I anticipated sore legs & feet, and actually mine haven't been too bad, but what I didn't anticipate was the arm workout I'd be getting from carrying our children around!! Yes we brought the beast of our double stroller, but when were waiting in lines we often end up holding one or both of the girls, and my arms are not used to that!!! And then there's just the sheer exhaustion of it all... Disney is not a relaxing vacation, at least not with littles! Maybe one day when they're older... but for now we're just enjoying every second of their joy & excitement!
