We didn't set an alarm but Pax woke up around 6:30ish, so I got up & fed him, and then turned on some lights to slowly wake up the rest of the crew. We ate breakfast in our room this morning - which is one of my biggest tips for doing Disney. If your kids are like mine they just want cereal (and they want to watch a show while they eat it). In addition we let our kids have "sugar cereal" when we're on vacation (they only get it on weekends regularly) so that's usually what they want. They don't want a big sit down hot breakfast, and those take up at least an hour of your morning. And you probably can't get a reservation at exactly the time your family will want to eat... so we often just eat simple in our room & have a bigger lunch instead!
After we ate & caught the bus, we arrived at Hollywood Studios around 9am. Emmy & I hoofed it back to Toy Story Land to ride Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster first because I wasn't able to get a fast pass for it. When we got in line the standby wait time said 80 minutes!! I seriously contemplated telling her we'd come back later, but the line didn't look like it was going to be that long, so we stuck it out, and I'm glad we did because we only actually waited 25-30 minutes!! So another tip - if you have a must-do ride that you can't get a fast pass for, get to the parks as early as you can & head straight to it. I also think they bump up the wait times right at park opening in anticipation of people heading to those popular rides, so it's worth sticking those out.
While we were on Slinky Dog Dan, Cammy & Pax headed to the Disney Junior Dance Party. When Emmy & I got off SDD we had already missed the start of the show so we rode Alien Swirling Saucers which only had a 10 minute wait. We all met up after the Dance Party & the girls met Doc, Vampirina & Fancy Nancy in the animation courtyard which was fun as we've never met those characters in Disney before. While we were in line for those meet & greets I had managed to grab fast passes for Toy Story Mania so we split up & took turns riding that, and while Dan and Cams rode Emmy & I watched "One Mans Dream" which was the perfect place to nurse Pax! It was dark, air conditioned & mostly empty!
Then it was lunch time - and we had reservations at Sci-Fi Drive in Theater Restaurant, which is my new favorite restaurant here! It was cool, dark, calm & quiet in there! It was amazing! And the food was pretty good as well. We prefer ordering off of a menu vs. buffets, in Disney so this was perfect for our family. And the girls loved that they were eating in a car! Even Pax loved it in there, he was just chilling in his high chair, snackin on crackers and watching the movies!
After lunch we headed over to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge to check it out. The amount of detail they put into that area is pretty impressive! The wait for Millennium Falcon was only 35 minutes! So Dan got in line to ride solo while I took the kids to the Muppets 3D show - which is one of the girls favorite things to do here (along with Mickey's Philharmagic, but we'll talk about that later). Pax was overdue for a nap at that point, so I stood in the back & rocked him to sleep (which took about 3 minutes) and then managed to keep him upright & wore him in the carrier for his nap. We had to wait just a short bit for Dan to get off his ride and then we met up to head back to the hotel. Pax woke up on the bus ride back, so when we got to the hotel we changed into swim suits, had a snack & headed to the pool!
The girls love the water slide here, so they did that a bunch of times, then we switched pools to be at the one with a hot tub - also the girls favorite - and we just ordered a small dinner to eat poolside, which included giving Pax his first taste of french fries! The girls decided they wanted to go back to Hollywood Studios for the Fantasmic show, so we changed & I headed out with the girls while Dan stayed back & put Pax to bed.
As we were waiting for the bus, the girls had to go to the bathroom, and there was no time quote showing up for when the next bus was coming, so we quickly ran into the hotel to use the restroom, and of course we missed the bus. So the girls got their first taxi ride over to Hollywood Studios tonight. We made it there just a little after Fantasmic started, but somehow there were empty seats in the center of the stands so we had a great view. The show was a little loud for Cams - but it was nothing some headphones couldn't fix! After the show both girls were so tired they didn't even take me up on my offer of getting some dessert before heading back! There's truly no tired like Disney tired!
Speaking of, I'm off to bed! Goodnight ya'll!
