15 Months Cute!

15 months old!

Our little love bug is 15 months old!! Time is just flying lately, even more than usual due to our upcoming move south (more on that later)! At her 15 month well visit Cams weighed in at 23b 7oz and is 30.75" long! She's still wearing 18 month clothes, and she recently got her first official pair of shoes, which were a size 4.5 wide. Of course her having wide feet means she doesn't fit into any of the (many) shoes I saved from Emmy... at least for now. Here's hoping she'll fit into some of them as she gets bigger!

At 15 months Cameron can...

-Walk! She officially started walking at 14.5 weeks, and now she is a confident walker, and is trying as hard as she can to go as fast as she can. She loves to "run, run, run!"

-Talk! Cam's vocab has been increasing daily lately it seems! She's also very willing to imitate or repeat new words we teach her. In addition to talking Cam uses a lot of nonverbal communication, particularly nodding. She has a very defined head nod. She also points to or reaches for things she wants. Here's some of the words she can say:

Cam's receptive language seems to be progressing right along as well and she's pretty good at following directions. She LOVES to be my helper, especially with unloading the dishwasher or cleaning up. The clean up song is like magic for her right now, if you need her to put something away just start singing it and Voila! she cleans!

-Use a spoon or fork to feed herself! Cam's been feeding herself with her hands for awhile now, she's always wanted to do it herself. But now she's getting better at using utensils - she's a little better with the fork than the spoon right now, and it's usually pretty messy... but its always fun!

Cameron loves her sister

Cameron and Emmy are the sweetest, most of the time. :-) I love it when they play together, or close to each other, and it seems to be happening more often lately. Cameron really idolizes her big sister, and wants to do pretty much everything Emmy does - which of course Emmy doesn't always love.

Cameron loves her babies!

 Cams is big into babies right now - baby dolls and real babies. Her favorite book right now is a PeekABoo baby book that has pictures of real babies, which sometimes she won't even let us read, she just wants to look at & kiss the babies in the book! She also thinks that other toddlers her size are "babies", it's cute.

Cameron loves her "lovies"

One of Dans' Great Aunts gave Grandma Deedee some super soft material & some binding and instructions to "make this for your granddaughter, she'll love it". And sure enough, Cameron loves it. So does Emmy. So Grandma Deedee had to make a few more lovies, and now our girls are well equipped with soft lovies. And Cameron takes hers everwhere, even to the tub.

Cameron loves phones!

I recently came across my old pink flip phone, and gave it to the girls to play with. Cams quickly staked her claim on it & surprisingly Emmy hasn't really argued. So cam walks around talking on her pink flip phone, it's pretty cute.

Cameron loves sleeping!

Cam is officially on one nap a day, and she loves her naps! When she's tired you know b/c she puts her finger in her mouth & usually wants to be picked up/held. She usually wakes up between 7 & 8am, and is ready for her nap between 12 & 1pm, depending on the day. If we're out & about she can hang in there awhile, but if we're just home she usually wants to go to sleep sooner. But she takes a 2-3 hour nap a day, and sleeps about 11-12 hours at night.

Cams' first popsicle!

Cam loves to eat! Bananas are currently her favorite, Broccoli is her least favorite. She also recently had her first popsicle, which quickly quieted her after she got a bump on her lip.

-To give kisses - sometimes her lips are closed, and sometimes they're not
-Shoes - She knows when its time to go somewhere that she needs her shoes, and she'll even remind you if you don't have your shoes on!
