Spring Break Toddler Style

Well it's time for me to face reality, my spring break has come to an end :-( It's been such a fun week hanging out at home with my little bean, I don't want it to end!! Originally I had been looking to make plans for us to go somewhere warm for this spring break, however I was talked into skipping a spring break trip by my sensible husband so we could save money to work on the house this summer... Well it looks like we're going to be getting a kitchen make-over courtesy of the explosion in our neighborhood... so we've got to find something else to spend our money on now!!

Spring break started out for us a week ago Thursday, and as you may have seen on my last post, we started it by going to visit the Easter bunny!! Since I've already posted about our Easter festivities, I'll share some of the more "routine" but fun moments from the week:

Sunglasses at breakfast!

Playing at the park!

Early morning snuggles on the couch!

Notice that baba (bottle) she's holding? You won't see those around here any more! We finally kicked the baba's over spring break!

Coloring

Practicing for her future in AYSO

Playing with her new buddy Violet!

Learning to golf!

Reading her new books

Coloring with her new crayons & book

Sleeping Beauty after a 4.5 hour nap!!!

Watching the deer in our backyard!

Meeting cousin Molly Yoder!

Playing with Brooke!

Meeting baby Beck Learman!

Learning to ride her first bike!

Her first piggy tails! They made her look so grown up!

We did take one fun field trip to somewhere new over spring break, to Detroit Kid City!! It was so much fun! It's basically a bunch of kid sized "buildings" that are all different locations, and some are Detroit themed. Like one is "Hitsville USA" and has a mini piano, guitars & drums in it! There's also an auto factory, a deli, a grocery store, a bank, a barber shop, a schoolhouse and an area that looks like up north with a little deck with some rocking chairs, and planter boxes with toy vegetables you can plant and pick! It's the cutest place ever! They have every toy you can think of for each little shop, and the kids just loved it! We met 3 other friends & their moms from our parent group there, and Emmy had a blast!

Making lunch in the deli

Handing out money at the bank

Relaxing "up north" with the girls

Getting haircuts at the Barber shop

Arts & Crafts time!

Reading in the schoolhouse

Testing out the latest model!

Working the line is exhausting!

Practicing chopsticks

Making sandwiches

One last rock on the porch before taking off!

Mommy & Daddy got one date "day" out of spring break too, on Detroit Tigers Opening Day! Grandma Laura was kind enough to babysit for Emmy so we could go enjoy the game with Papa, Uncle D & Auntie Jen! The weather was a little chilly, but the sun came out, and the Tigers pulled out a W! All in all it was a great day!

My little Tiger

Go Tigers!

The family that tailgates together...

Enjoying the sunshine!

The last few days of our spring break were uneventful, but still lots of fun!

Taking a ride with daddy

A little more reading

Chalk time!

Riding the bike outside! She's really good at going backwards...

Testing out the new playhouse!

So much fun!

And that brings us to Sunday night, and I'm updating the blog instead of getting ready for work tomorrow! But it's ok, this is way more fun!
