Hoppy Easter!

Remember this?

Our Easter Bunny at 3 months old
Our Easter Bunny at 14 months old!!

What a difference a year can make!! Last Easter we had a rolly-polly baby girl and this year we have a dancing-running big girl!! My spring break officially started at lunch on Thursday, so Emmy & I started our Easter celebration by going to visit the Easter bunny with Grandma Deanna. We also met our friends Lisa & Brooke, and Shannon & Alexander there too! Somerset Mall puts on an Easter show a few times each day leading up to Easter, and afterwards you can get a free picture taken with the Easter bunny! So Grandma Deanna graciously waited in line for us while Emmy & I enjoyed the Easter show. Emmy LOVED the show!! The music was a bit loud, but she was dancing away with the big girls! I wasn't sure how she'd do with the Easter Bunny, seeing as Santa wasn't a big hit with her just a few months ago... But we had Brooke go first & show the little kids how it was done. Emmy didn't sit on the bunny's lap by herself, but she also didn't cry!! I call that a success! :-)

Last year...
...this year!

After the show we all grabbed lunch, then headed home for a big nap. Emmy slept so long we missed gymnastics that day! But it was worth it :-)

Mesmerized by the show!

Our Easter celebrations continued on Saturday morning, when we took Emmy to her first Easter Egg hunt!! A local church held a free egg hunt in Grant Park near downtown Royal Oak, and the weather was beautiful!! Grandma & Papa Smith joined us for the egg hunt, and we all had a great time! Emmy enjoyed her first ride in her wagon, I think she liked it better than a stroller because she could see more of what was going on around her. Emmy got the hang of the egg hunt pretty quickly, and it definitely helped that the field was covered in eggs!!

Ready to hunt for some eggs!

Check out that ride!

Here we go!

Look at this one!

Wow that's a lot of eggs!

I found another one!

So much fun!!

Loving this sunshine!

After the egg hunt we headed right over to the Detroit Zoo for Bunnyville!! Seeing as it was the first really nice day of the year, the zoo was crazy busy, and we had to wait a half hour just to get in! Luckily we met our friends Elisabeth & Matilda there, so we had some friends to wait in line with!

As we got inside we ran into our cousins Michelle and Gracie and Aunt Joyce! We all made it inside just in time for the "Bunny Follies" show, which Emmy LOVED! Just seeing her dance & be with the kids for the show made it worth waiting to get in!

Well hello Easter Bunny!

Dancing with her cousin Gracie!

Where's waldo? Oh that's right, she's right up there with the big kids!

Hi mom!

After the show ended we took a walk around the zoo, and checked out our favorite animals, the polar bears & seals! The bears were actually out sunning themselves, and the seals were putting on a show right over the tunnels!

Checking out a big seal!

We decided we should probably head home after that, seeing as Emmy was getting super tired. She was a trooper though, and needless to say, she took a big nap that day!! When she woke up, she was visited by her Grandma & Papa Goerlich, Uncle Jims & Amy, and her favorite, Uncle B! We had Dan's family over since Brandon was in town from Western and we wouldn't be seeing them Sunday for Easter. Emmy had a great time visiting & playing with everyone, and so did we!

Bowling with Papa!

Trying on Papa's boots!

Easter morning was a lot of fun, as Emmy found the eggs the Easter bunny "hid" for her. She really liked opening the eggs to see what was inside too!

Look what I found!

Eggs!

Another one!

What's inside?

Check out those accessories!

I like this game!

After our egg hunt and some breakfast, we got dressed up for church, and Emmy sure looked beautiful in her Easter dress!

So pretty!

Emmy did really well in church on Easter. I think she really enjoyed all the extra instruments & music! She also seemed tired still from the previous day! We came home & changed out of our Easter dresses, and then Emmy and Mommy both took a nap!! For Easter dinner we headed over to my Uncle Steve & Aunt Sue's to celebrate with my side of the family. Emmy had a great time seeing everyone, especially the "hop hop"!

Blessed.

And that concludes our Easter celebration. Think we took enough pictures? Believe it or not there are actually a few I need to get from my mom & Grandma still to add to the collection! We had a great Easter & super fun spring break, but I'll post more about that another day, it's time for this mama to go to bed!
